kawakita atsushi
Kawakita Atsushi was born in Matsusaka City, Mie Japan. He was obsessed with skateboarding during his youth.
He started to pursue music through encountering DJ KENSEI and PROGRESSIVE FOrM.
In 2016, he began creating picture books as a birthday present for his children.
In 2019, he found his own unique style and devoted himself to his artworks.
He began an artist activities since 2020, held solo and group exhibitions in Mie, Osaka and Tokyo.
In 2023, he advanced overseas and exhibited in Hong Kong and Monaco.
The hybrid art that he creates is made by fusion of analog and digital world, in which he uses ink, a palette knife, and a computer. He puts his overflowing passion onto the paper with a palette knife, He then maximize the strength and dynamism born from the painting in the digital medium, and expresses them boldly and delicately. He manipulates vivid colors to create a myriad of expressions.
For him, art means “living in the moment to the fullest, telling the truth, and awakening people's dormant vitality.”
He challenges the world with hybrid art that only he can express the wonderful four seasons and culture of Japan.
His current goal is to expand overseas.
His dream is to sell out his artworks at his solo exhibition in New York.
三重県松阪市生まれ。
海の幸、山の幸に恵まれた街で三度の飯よりスケボーが好きというスケボー三昧の少年時代を過ごす。
高校時代にHIPHOPに出会い、DJを目指して東京へ。レコードで様々な音楽に触れるうち、
自分自身でも音楽を作りたくなり、Technoの制作活動を始める。
音楽制作を続けていく中で、音楽ソフトの枠の中でしか制作できない制限を感じながら、音楽で自分を表現できるのかを模索していた。
2016｜子供の誕生日プレゼントに自作絵本を贈ろうと考えたのを機に、絵本制作を始める
2019｜インクとヘラとパソコンを使う、アナログとデジタルを融合したハイブリッドアートのスタイルを見つけ制作に没頭
2020年よりアート活動を始め、三重、大阪、東京各地で個展、グループ展を開催
